Christian Laettner’s Dream Team Jersey and NCAA Memorabilia Up For Auction

Christian Laettner, a former NCAA champion and member of the iconic Olympic “Dream Team,” has partnered with SCP Auctions once again to offer over 36 items from his personal collection in their Fall Premier Auction, which concludes on December 2nd.

Among the pieces up for grabs are Laettner’s NCAA championship rings from 1991 and 1992, which symbolize his triumphs as a member of the Duke Blue Devils. Also included in the collection is a recruitment letter from legendary Coach Mike Krzyzewski, dated 1987, showcasing the early interest in Laettner’s talent. One of the most significant items in the auction is Laettner’s #32 Duke jersey, retired during his senior season in 1992 at the iconic Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The auction also highlights Laettner’s involvement in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, where he and his fellow superstars formed the historic “Dream Team.” Game-worn and autographed, Laettner’s Olympic uniform and warm-up suit are both available for bidding. Also included is a team-signed basketball from the Olympics and an autographed ticket from the gold medal final, which is the highest PSA graded example available.

In addition to his collegiate and Olympic memorabilia, Laettner is offering items from his induction into the Naismith Hall of Fame in 2010. The auction features his Hall of Fame induction ring, as well as his National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Medal from the same year. These pieces represent the recognition of Laettner’s contributions to the sport and his lasting impact on the game.

Fans and collectors will also have the opportunity to bid on a 1997 NBA All-Star ring, showcasing Laettner’s success at the professional level. Additionally, a game-worn jersey from his rookie year in the NBA is up for auction, giving fans a chance to own a piece of Laettner’s early career.

Laettner expressed that these items hold great sentimental value to him, as they represent the highlights and accomplishments of his basketball career. He sees this auction as a unique opportunity for fans and collectors to own a piece of his storied journey in the sport. The auction follows the successful sale of Laettner’s jersey in 2014, worn during his famous turnaround jumper against Kentucky in the 1992 NCAA Tournament, which fetched a price of $119,500.

SCP Auctions is known for their expertise in sports memorabilia, and their collaboration with Laettner offers fans and collectors an exclusive opportunity to acquire items from a true basketball legend. Whether it be his NCAA championship rings, his Dream Team jersey, or his NBA memorabilia, every item in this collection represents a defining moment in Laettner’s career.

As this exclusive auction comes to a close, fans and collectors eagerly await the chance to own a piece of basketball history. Whether they’re looking to add to their personal collection or seeking a unique gift for a fanatic, the Christian Laettner collection offers something truly special. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of the storied career of one of basketball’s most iconic figures.
