Jordan Rookie Card Sets Record, Kelce Super Bowl Jersey Highlights Goldin Elite Auction. The high-end sports memorabilia market showcased its allure at Goldin’s prestigious August Elite Auction, with numerous items commanding staggering bids, many surpassing six figures. Topping the sale was a PSA 8 1984-85 Star Company Michael Jordan rookie card, securing an impressive $244,000 and setting a new record for this grade.

Not lagging far behind was a PSA 7 Jordan Star Company rookie card, which recently changed hands for $62,000 on eBay, further highlighting the escalating demand for Jordan’s inaugural NBA licensed trading card. Also garnering attention was a PSA 6.5 variant of the same card, fetching $52,460.

A standout in the auction was a unique 1-of-1 2009 Bowman Sterling Red Refractor Autograph card featuring MLB sensation Mike Trout, graded PSA 9, which brought in an outstanding $192,030, despite Trout’s recent struggles with injuries.

Two modern baseball cards made waves by setting new records for their respective players: a 2011 Bowman Chrome Red Refractor Bryce Harper #5/5, graded PSA 9, sold for an impressive $184,720, while a 2014 Bowman Chrome Red Refractor Mookie Betts #3/5, graded PSA 10, garnered $123,220.

A noteworthy sale featured a dual autograph Ronaldo/Messi SuperFractor from 2023-24 Topps UEFA, which fetched $67,100 after being graded PSA 9. The card originated from England, pulled by a breaker at the London Card Show.

Delving into the memorabilia realm, Travis Kelce’s 2020-21 Super Bowl LV jersey, matched to the Kansas City Chiefs’ defeat in the championship game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, commanded attention with a winning bid of $52,460. Adding to Kelce’s spotlight, his AFC Championship ring from the same season fetched $34,404.

Another striking memorabilia sale included an Aaron Judge 2017 rookie season jersey, linked to one of his remarkable 52 home runs, closing at $51,240.
