Panini Extends USA Baseball Partnership, Adding More Teams and Inclusivity

In a move that’s sure to excite both baseball aficionados and trading card collectors alike, Panini America and USA Baseball have decided to take their decade-long partnership into extra innings. The duo has just inked a new chapter in their collaboration saga, marking the third extension of their exclusive agreement that has had fans cheering from the stands since 2012. This renewed alliance not only solidifies Panini’s standing in the world of baseball trading cards but also brings fresh elements and teams into the fold, further enhancing the collectible experience.

At the heart of this expansion is Panini’s reinforced rights to produce trading cards for every USA Baseball team, a proposition that’s as tantalizing as a bottom-of-the-ninth, bases-loaded scenario. Collectors will now have the chance to seek out rookie cards and memorabilia from an even wider range of athletes, including stars in the making from the Collegiate National Team and the younger 18U and 15U squads. Perhaps most intriguing is the inclusion, for the first time, of the youngest prodigies on the 12U National Team. With alumni list already boasting burgeoning talents like Pete Crow-Armstrong, Paul Skenes, and Anthony Volpe, the expanded lineup promises even more exciting potential for collectors.

But the partnership isn’t just about the boys and young men having all the fun. In a progressive leap forward, Panini’s latest agreement proudly places a spotlight on the talented athletes of the Women’s National Team. This marks a pivotal stride toward inclusivity and an embrace of the full spectrum of USA Baseball’s diverse athlete community. Female players can now look forward to seeing their faces and feats immortalized on Panini trading cards, a long-overdue recognition that ensures everyone gets a turn in the collectible spotlight.

Adding to the crescendo of excitement, the deal also brings Panini Instant, the brand’s real-time card release innovation, into the game. For the first time, electrifying moments from national team performances will be captured and shared through limited-edition cards available in real-time to eager fans. These print-on-demand gems focus on standout plays, performances, and milestones, but you’ll have to act fast—these cards are fleeting like a summer rain and only available for a limited time.

And speaking of time-bound excitement, Panini’s engagement with the annual Golden Spikes Award is getting an upgrade too. Following their presence at last year’s College World Series, Panini will once again enhance the event, distributing exclusive trading card packs in Omaha. This grand gesture will precede the 2025 award presentation on June 21, turning their engagement at the College World Series into a yearly highlight for fans and collectors alike.

Those heading out to catch a game this summer will notice a particularly striking addition out on the field: the Panini-branded on-deck circles at the National Training Complex. More than just colorful decor, these field-used items are set to be transformed from practical uses into coveted memorabilia. Cleverly, they’ll be embedded as collectible inserts in upcoming trading card sets, joining jerseys previously worn by players that already feature Panini’s iconic logo as a branded memorabilia.

Since the initiation of this powerhouse partnership, Panini and USA Baseball have made a considerable impact on the landscape of baseball, shining a spotlight on promising athletes and future stars. Since they teamed up, they’ve cast a spotlight on over 200 top-tier prospects who have been first-round MLB Draft picks. Paging through history, you’ll find that 586 first-rounders have donned the nation’s colors, including a grand slam total of 36 who were selected first overall—making the red, white, and blue an iconic beginning for many a baseball career.

With the continuation of this collaboration, fans and collectors can look forward to a future packed full of cutting-edge products that fuse stellar design with exclusive, one-of-a-kind relics from the beautiful game. This partnership continues to mature and evolve, proving itself as a dynamic duo in developing a world where baseball’s past, present, and future triumphs are celebrated in the palm of a collector’s hand.

As Panini and USA Baseball continue to script their legacy together, it’s evident that both organizations are playing a long game with an eye toward innovation, inclusivity, and delivering unforgettable moments—both on and off the field.
