Packers Players Support Salvation Army’s Mission

Four Green Bay Packers players recently united at Lambeau Field Atrium to make a significant impact on both fans and their community. A.J. Dillon, Bo Melton, Quay Walker, and Evan Williams dedicated their time to sign memorabilia, creating lasting memories for fans while raising funds to support the Salvation Army’s mission. This event not only brought joy to attendees but also provided crucial support to families, seniors, and individuals in need during the holiday season.

Fans enthusiastically donated a minimum of $50 to have their sports memorabilia signed by the Packers players, understanding that every dollar raised would directly benefit the Salvation Army. These funds will go towards supporting local families in Green Bay and beyond, covering operational expenses and ensuring a brighter holiday season for those in need.

Salvation Army Capt. Maj. Catherine Fitzgerald expressed her appreciation for the event’s impact, revealing that nearly 8,000 children in the area will receive gifts this holiday season due to these donations. She commended the players for their generosity, stating, “Fans have the chance to meet their favorite athletes while making a meaningful contribution to the community. It’s a win for everyone involved.”

For Michelle Stevens and her two sons, attending the event was an opportunity they couldn’t miss. Making the 45-minute drive from Two Rivers to Green Bay after discovering the event on Facebook, Michelle shared the impact of meeting their NFL idols in person. As a single mother raising two young football enthusiasts, she emphasized the inspiration her boys gained from interacting with the players, highlighting the message that hard work can lead to achieving dreams.

The excitement was palpable as Michelle’s sons, Morgan and Mason, met the Packers stars. Morgan expressed his awe, saying, “Meeting an NFL player in person is awesome, something I’ll never forget.” Mason was equally thrilled, ecstatic about receiving autographs from players he admires, emphasizing the value of those signatures to him.

For the Packers players, this event was more than just signing autographs; it was a chance to connect with fans and demonstrate gratitude for the support they receive throughout the season. A.J. Dillon, a regular at Salvation Army events, emphasized the significance of these interactions, stating, “Meeting the people who cheer for us weekly, making them smile, and helping the community concurrently is an experience I’ll always prioritize.”

This autograph event is part of the Packers’ ongoing commitment to support the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign, which aids families, seniors, and individuals experiencing homelessness in the Green Bay area. Besides the players who participated in this event, other Packers standouts, such as Kenny Clark, Kingsley Enagbare, and Rasheed Walker, have also been involved in similar initiatives this holiday season.

Fans who missed this event will have two more opportunities to meet the Packers players and get memorabilia signed on Dec. 9 and Dec. 16, with all proceeds continuing to support the Salvation Army’s cause.

For fans like Michelle Stevens and her sons, this event was about more than just autographs; it was an experience that will be cherished for years to come. The event provided them with a chance to meet their heroes and be inspired by their stories, creating unforgettable memories.

The funds raised from this event will assist the Salvation Army in providing food, shelter, and gifts for families in need during the holiday season. By coming together, Packers players, fans, and the Salvation Army are showing that even a small act of generosity can make a significant impact in spreading joy and hope during this special time of year.

If you are keen on combining your passion for football with giving back to the community, do not miss the upcoming autograph events on Dec. 9 and Dec. 16. Together, let’s continue to brighten the holiday season for those who need it most.
